The Labrador Retriever has been the number one breed of dog in Canada and the USA for over 20 years. This is because they are friendly, loyal, intelligent, even-tempered, gentle, and outgoing. They are great with kids and other pets. They are very intelligent and are highly trainable. They love to play games and are athletic. Always eager to please. Due to all of this, they have been the top choice for service dogs. They have webbed feet which makes them excellent swimmers and water lovers. They can be excellent in the field or in a show. They are often used to help during hunting season as well.

Labrador Retrievers come in 3 colors, Black, Yellow, and Chocolate. White or light cream Labrador Retrievers are registered as yellow as they are the lightest shade of yellow. The average size is 65-80 pounds for a male and 55-70 pounds for a female. The Labrador Retriever’s fur is short with a double coat. They do shed frequently so regular brushing is recommended.
